Overview

The event is a Women’s Mental Health Panel, which will take place on International Women’s day as part of Women’s History Month. We aim to create a safe and supportive platform for open dialogue about the unique mental health challenges that women face, how these may arise, the stigma associated with these challenges, and the strategies women can use.

  • Dr Eleanor Dommett: specializes in ADHD.
  • Dr Sian Omran: Women’s mental health specialist looks at sex/gender and its relation to institutional and societal structure. She directs the Violence Abuse and Mental Health Network, which works to understand, prevent, and reduce the impact of violence and abuse on mental health.
  • Professor Ulrike Schmidt: psychiatrist and eating disorder specialist: leads the Eating Disorders and Obesity Theme in the NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre.
  • Dr Roxanne Keynejad: Her research focuses on the mental health of women experiencing gender-based violence, including in low and middle-income countries. She leads the international violence, abuse and mental health network (iVAMHN)
