Our society is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive community for Graduate/Professional Entry Programme (GPEP) BDS students. Through a series of social events, we aim to connect GPEP students across all year groups, not only within the GPEP cohort but also with their BDS counterparts. By bridging these gaps, we hope to build a network where GPEP feel welcomed and supported throughout their dental education.
In addition to building this social network, our society is focused on providing dedicated support for prospective GPEP applicants. We will offer sessions that cover application tips and guidance, aiming to demystify the process and ensure that all students, regardless of their background, have access to the information they need. To further this goal, we’ll be hosting regular Q&A sessions featuring current GPEP students from various year groups. These sessions will help clarify the key differences between the GPEP and traditional BDS pathways, offering prospective students insight into what is required of them in their GPEP dental application.
Our society is fully inclusive, welcoming students from non-dental courses of study as we believe that anyone with the desire to become a dentist should have the opportunity to do so. That's why we've created a space where both dentists and non-dentists can come together, share experiences, and build a strong, well-supported community.
Looking ahead, we are hope to expanding our reach beyond King’s College London, working to integrate mature students at other institutions offering dentistry. This initiative reflects our goal of creating a broader community that connects and supports GPEP students nationwide.
