Welcome to the KCL Japan Society! We are a warm, active, and welcoming society open to everyone. Whether you enjoy the occasional anime/Studio Ghibli film, like Japanese food, love everything about Japan, or are a Japanese student new to Britain, everyone is welcome here. The Japan Society is a great place to make friends and have a really good time!
We have so far planned a wide array of activities for you to enjoy Japanese culture:
Cultural Events: mochi making, kimono try-on, and Japanese calligraphy (Kakizome), tea ceremony (Chado)
Social Events: Boat Party, Karaoke (Japanese style), Nomikai (pub social), Undokai (Sports Day with other ldn unis), and Restaurant visits.
Free Language Classes for all members who wish to learn Japanese by speaking to native speakers. The biweekly classes are in three levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) so don't worry if you are completely new to the language!

The KCL Japan Society is also dedicated to continually improving the social dynamics of our society and expanding the Japanese community at Kings by co-hosting events with other societies such as the Hallyu Society, Anime and Manga Society, sports societies (Kento Society & Karate Society) and other Universities' Japan societies.
