Welcome to Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Women's Football Club!
Whether you’ve spent the last 10 years playing football for your county or you’ve never kicked a ball in your life, our club is for you!
We welcome students from ALL COURSES and all campuses, and with our three COMPETITIVE TEAMS and our fourth RECREATIONAL TEAM, we truly cater to all abilities. The competitive teams have training once a week with qualified coaches helping the team captains and they play league matches twice weekly. The recreational 4s team play once a week with the occasional friendly match and the session is lead by GKTWFC student activators.
ABOUT OUR TEAMS :
1st Team: (Competitive Team Membership £45) The 1s consists of more experienced players, consistently performing well in leagues and other tournaments. Previous titles they have achieved include United Hospitals Cup, LUSL Premier Division, and Varsity champions 4/5years! The captains and physiotherapy power couple, Bex and Abby, are so excited to welcome new players this season and are available for extra stretching tips! With Bex having previously played for Spurs and Abby now onto her third year in the club, we have no doubt they have the skills to bring it home for the 1s!
2nd Team: (Competitive Team Membership £45) The 2s have been riding a WINNING wave over the last couple of years and the captains, Hedda and Amirat, will make you feel like a winner for joining their team. The joy and laughter from the 2s in training may be due to cheerleading acrobatics from Hedda on the sideline or Amirat convincing everyone to join her Tiktoks but do not underestimate the power of the 2s on the pitch as demonstrated in being winners of the NAMS plate 2024!
3rd Team: (Competitive Team Membership £45) The 3's determination has seen them make fantastic strides over the last few years, moving up the league table and beating other universtiy 1st and 2nd teams. The team has a range of players with many beginners but the committment and passion which drives their football is based on the friendships formed in the 3s. Regardless of whether you've played much football before, if you're ready to get stuck in and have some fun then the captains, Summer and Bushra, want YOU to join their team (if you're also prepared for some Disney karaoke!).
4th Recs Team: (Recreational Membership £35 = GKTWFC Rec £15 + BeActive £20) Our social team is perfect for those wanting to play football more casually, whether you want to try something new or if you just love kicking a ball around with some friends. You can join the 4s Recs at any point in the season no trials needed. It may be the low committment option of GKTWFC but the 4s Recreational Activators, Olivia and Anna lead such a fun session you're sure to be coming back every week! The 4s first friendly match last year was such a success, we're looking forward to organising more this season to give a taster of real match play in a relaxed environment.
The GKTWFC Recs session is in partnership with King's Sport BeActive and our recreational members will have access to the entire BeActive Timetable (not just football!) which offers a range of different sports and operates on a sign-up turn-up basis. The BeActive Timetable usually costs £30 for the year, however for GKTWFC members BeActive costs £20 for the year! Proper nice, proper bargain!
Social Member: (GKTWFC £15 Membership) We encourage everyone to have a go at playing football no matter your ability but if you want to get swept up in the fun of GKTWFC without actually playing any football then it is possible to join as a Social Member!! Perhaps you love watching the beautiful game and want to join us on a stadium trip to see the Lionesses play. Perhaps you love talking about football and want a groupchat to send football memes. Perhaps you've seen one of our Thursday socials on Campus or seen us owning the dance floor at Guy's Bar. Whatever your reason if you want another supportive and fun communitiy of friends to help you have the best time a university then you can join GKTWFC as a social member and enjoy all that we offer beyond football!
