Eligibility criteria:
Funding is available if you're studying to become a doctor or dentist and you're:

studying a 5 or 6-year undergraduate course (you can apply from year 5)

studying a 3 or 4-year graduate-entry course (you can apply from year 2

a returning NHS Bursary student who started your course before 1 August 2017
If you're an eligible full-time student, you can apply for a:

non-means tested grant of £1,000 per academic year

tuition fee contribution
-
means-tested bursary based on your household income

Eligibility criteria:
Students do not need to apply for the Bursary and will be contacted automatically in mid-November 2024 as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.
For students who have their household income assessed after November 2024, we will conduct further eligibility checks periodically throughout the academic year and those eligible will be contacted automatically once this is complete.
Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish students in receipt of a maintenance grant or an equivalent grant/bursary, will receive a King's Living Bursary in line with the household income bandings described above.
EU Students: If you have been classed as EU for tuition fee purposes and are receiving the tuition fee loan but are not eligible for the student loan for maintenance, you will be ineligible for this bursary.

Eligibility criteria:

you should be undertaking your first undergraduate degree;

you should be a home fee status student resident in Wales;

you should be undertaking an undergraduate programme in law (all UG law programmes) for 2024 entry;

have an assessed household income of £59,200 pa or less;

you should be in receipt of the Welsh Government Learning Grant
-
have taken up your maximum entitlement to UK government help with tuition fees and loans/grants for living costs;
-
you must have given Student Finance Wales ‘consent’ to share your financial information with the College;
-
have ‘firmly’ accepted an offer of a place at King’s on an eligible programme.
King’s will be offering one new annual Tynybedw Law Bursary worth £25,000 each to Welsh-domiciled students successfully applying for entry in September 2024.
Award value: The scholarship is worth £25,000 payable over 3 years.
This means that you will receive £8,000 in your 1st and 2nd years and £9,000 in your 3rd and final year (repeat years or breaks in study will not be funded) and will be dependent upon continued satisfactory academic progress and attendance. The scholarship will be made available as a cash bursary.

you must have given Student Finance England/Wales/Northern Ireland/SAAS ‘consent’ to share your financial information with the College

be willing to provide an end-of-year report and a letter of thanks to the donor

Award details
The bursaries are designed to offer assistance to candidates who require extra financial support to undertake their degree. Two bursaries are available, each worth £22,500, payable over a maximum of 3 years.
