£13.15 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay which equates to £14.73 for every hour worked.

Hours

The minimum working week is 4 hours. This will be allocated based on your availabilty from 9am-5pm Mon-Fri.

The KCLSU Hubs team supports KCLSU operations as the first point of contact at any KCLSU office space. Hubs are looking for a new team member with flexible weekday availability from 9am-5pm.

The post-holder will deal with enquiries from students, visitors and other stakeholders in person, via email and by telephone courteously and efficiently. They will be able to work unsupervised as part of a team, able to manage their workload effectively during busy as well as less busy times, and cope well under pressure. The post holder will work within their respective teams but may be expected to work with other KCLSU staff and elected representatives. The overall work remit includes administration and projects linked to KCLSU Hubs and KCLSU Ambassadors.

Responsibilities include:

•    Ensure all students, and visitors feel welcome when they arrive at KCLSU
•    Act as an ambassador for KCLSU at all times. This may include working outside of KCLSU offices to represent KCLSU and signpost students to our services.
•    Deal with phone, email and face to face queries as well as signposting to locations.
•    Offer concise, clear information regarding our services, products and those of KCLSU and KCL
•    Help with deliveries, either signposting to the correct area or taking packages through to the KCLSU office
•    Take messages and contact the appropriate person via the approved method  
•    Maintain the footfall and enquiry contact analysis database by ensuring contact is logged correctly
•    Process point of sale transactions (following financial procedures at all times), including cash, credit/debit card and cheque transactions
•    Deal with the lost property, returning items to their owners and archiving / disposing of older items
•    Sell events ticket or guiding customers towards the online booking system
•    Process KCLSU club and society memberships, ensuring the MSL database is accurately maintained.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this role you must:

  • Be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student of King's College London.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK, and provide proof of this (i.e. a passport/visa) when asked by KCLSU.
  • Have a National Insurance number, or be in the process of applying for one.
  • Not be a trustee of King’s College London Students’ Union. Trustees should not apply for a role whilst in their term of office, or should their application be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for student staff (non-administrative) roles, as soon as they finish their tenure.
  • Ex-Trustees can apply for career staff / permanent staff roles, only after a year has passed of them being a trustee. Applications submitted within the year should not be accepted or progressed to the interview stage.
