Community Events Assistant

You will be paid £13.15 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay which equates to £14.73 for every hour worked.

Hours

This role is a minimum contract of 7 hours per week, however, please only apply if you are looking to work additional hours to support our busier periods.

Details

The Events Assistant will work within the Community Engagement department to assist on a range of administrative tasks including; monitoring the team’s inboxes and responding to enquiries and ensuring information is up-to-date on the KCLSU website.  They will also assist the Community Events Coordinators on key projects they are currently working on.
The post holder will support projects such as Welcome, Liberation History Months and One World Festival.

The ability to manage working time effectively, and prioritise appropriately is essential. Some of the duties include:

  • Monitoring the relevant department inboxes and social media accounts
  • Responding to enquiries in a polite, timely and professional manner or forwarding to relevant staff member
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks to support KCLSU community leads and staff
  • Providing support for projects running across the community engagement department as needed
  • Assisting the Community Events Coordinator to run KCLSU events and occasionally small-scale campus events on your own
  • Assisting the administration and coordination of funding grants in collaboration with the Events Union Development Committee
  • Supporting the team with delivering KCLSU Awards

**This role is a minimum contract of 7 hours per week, however, please only apply if you are looking to work additional hours to support our busier periods. Please see the schedule below for an idea of the split in hours across the year:

  • August 19th-September 23rd: 12 hours per week
  • Sep 23rd-Jan 20th: 7 hours per week
  • Jan 20th-March 10th: 10 hours per week
  • March 10th-June 16th: 12 hours per week
  • June 16th-July 31st: 8 hours per week
