Dear Postgraduate students,
We hope you are well. We have been advised that there may have been some miscommunication and a lack of clarity about the Postgraduate Taught Safety Net. Some departments had sent out communications earlier advising PGT students that their Safety Net would be similar to that of the Undergraduate Students; shortly thereafter, information was shared by the college that only the 2% overall grade classification rule would apply to PGT students rather than the Safety Net available to Undergraduate results. We conducted a survey with PGT students to find out more from you, your experience and thoughts, so thank you to those of you who've shared that information with us. We are currently analysing the responses from the survey and hope to share them with King's senior staff once again. We have been in various discussions and meetings with senior King’s staff members around this topic, and we are keen to include your experiences and emphasise your thoughts to King's further.
A lot of you have emailed me with various questions and concerns, which I highly appreciate and hope I have been able to answer your query. Lots of you have shared disheartening stories, which I want to recognise and pass my apologies and condolences about them. In addition, a big thank you to those who attended my Q&A explaining the PGT safety net and hope you found it useful.
I want to assure you that this is a pressing matter and we are still working to create a change where we have the scope and thank you for your patience. We will keep you updated upon any changes we see. Meanwhile, you can go have a look at our campaign page and show support to the PGT Safety Net campaign.
If you have any further concerns or comments, please reach out to me.
Many thanks.
Please do take good care of yourselves.
