Guy’s Hut challenges students to try a Quorn Nugget for free this January to see if they’d make more vegan choices this month.
We’re inviting students to come to Guy’s Hut and ask to take our Quorn Nugget taste test. You’ll be offered a free Quorn Nugget to try!
Guy’s Hut, which launched in September, has been serving sourdough pizza and loaded fries since opening, but now is adding new products on its menu. Prices for the hot food on offer start from as low as £2.99. It is a not-for-profit, student-run venue, which puts money back into supporting student activities at KCLSU.
New sides on the menu include 5x Quorn Nuggets for £3.99 and 5x Chicken Goujons for £4.99.
Our new vegan items are the Quorn Nuggets and the Thai Green Lentil Curry, available with basmati rice or in a bunny chow bun.
Quorn is a meat substitute brand that originated in the UK. Quorn Nuggets, which don’t contain soy, are low in saturated fat and a source of protein and fibre. The Quorn Footprint Comparison Report (the Carbon Trust 2022) highlights that Quorn mycoprotein (the core ingredient of Quorn Nuggets) has a 6x lower carbon footprint than chicken.
Guy’s Hut is open for lunch from Monday to Friday, between 12 noon and 3pm. You’ll spot the Hut as you walk into The Shed from the colonnades.
Conveniently located within a minutes-walk of London Bridge, adjacent to Guy's Hospital and close to the Shard and London’s South Bank, Guy’s Hut is the perfect, warm indoor location for your lunchtime this winter. The venue is open to students, non-students, local residents and workers alike and is also bookable for private hire.
KCLSU Vice President, Janvi Jagasia says, “Locals across this part of central London won’t realise they can actually come into Guy’s Bar on campus and grab an affordable decent lunch. The Shed has such a nice vibe and we get the best value and service at Guy’s Hut – they’re not stingy on the portions!”
