This is a hard time for everyone, but I wanted you to know that I have been working as hard as I can to make sure that students are supported. I have been working with the university on:
- Assessments in the travel window: I have asked the university to move all assessment deadlines out of the travel window. King's Faculties have been asked to move submission deadlines out of the travel window, but it has not been possible to do so in every case. If you having any issues, please do email [email protected]. If you need to submit a mitigating circumstances form, please remember that KCLSU Advice is here to help.
- Covid-19 Testing: If you haven't already, please book your free tests before going home for Christmas. It's a quick and easy process - even our wonderful VP Postgraduates took a test and vlogged the experience!
- Fit to Fly: If you have to fly to get home, we have managed to influence KCL into subsidising the cost of fit to fly tests, as the covid-19 tests on campus are not generally accepted by the airlines. You can find out more about that here. I want to acknowledge what a big win this is, many other universities have not offered this to their students.
- Assessment Design for Summer Exam Periods: I think these should be released as soon as possible, we are working closely with KCL to ensure that students are informed what the format of their exams are. We hope to have an update on this by the end of January.
We are working as hard as we can to help all students. If you think there is something we haven't considered, then definitely send us an email at [email protected] and we can start pursuing different avenues to ensure that every student is supported.
