Group of the Month
KCL Ophthalmology Society has excelled in academic, well-being, and charitable initiatives, hosting case discussions, workshops, and social events as well as supporting charitable organisations such as the Royal Society of Blind Children and Moorfields Eye Charity. Their weekly newsletter, WhatsApp updates, and creative outreach, like an Advent Calendar of ophthalmology facts, have expanded their reach. With high attendance and cross-society collaborations, they’ve made a lasting impact. Congratulations on winning Group of the Month!
Volunteers of the Month
We received two exceptional nominations this month, and we are thrilled to recognise both as our Volunteers of the Month!
Claire, President of Boundless Compassion Charity Support, has been vital to her society’s success this year. She has organised three major events, including the BCCS pop-up for Student Volunteering Week, handling everything from charity coordination to professional liaising. Her leadership, passion, and hard work have created a welcoming and inspiring environment. Claire’s commitment has been instrumental to the society’s success, and she truly deserves this recognition. Congratulations, Claire!

Hector has made a huge impact during Student Volunteering Week by organising a litter-picking walk in collaboration with BCCS. Leading volunteers from Strand to Waterloo, Hector and the team collected four bags of litter in just 1.5 hours, making a visible difference to the local environment. As the founder of Clean It, which now spans the UK, France, and Tanzania, Hector is dedicated to promoting cleaner streets and environmental responsibility. His efforts to inspire action make him a deserving winner this month!
