The new Mitigating Circumstances Policy, effective from 1 September 2024, is being reshared to ensure you are aware of its details during this assessment period.

KCLSU Officers have focused on making the Mitigating Circumstances Form (MCF) processes more clearly signposted to supportive pathways and providing more proactive support to students who submit multiple MCFs. King’s have maintained KCLSU representation in both Officers and permanent staff on the oversight group to ensure that the student voice remains a key part of developing further guidance and ensuring supportive and consistent practice.

The new policy aims to improve your experience and support you in case you encounter any difficulties that affect your academic performance. It introduces some key changes and new sections to provide: 

• A supportive framework that maintains academic integrity.  
• Minimum standards in the application of this policy. 
• Clearer rules on the management of requests, expectations and responsibilities.
