When you enrol at King’s College London, you automatically become a member of KCLSU. This goes way beyond a simple bureaucratic procedure: for us, it becomes an opportunity to make you feel part of an inspiring community, engage in life-changing experiences, and give you the tools to make the impact you have always aspired to.
Celebrating the Student Volunteering Week, here at KCLSU, is the perfect chance for you to see how these intentions come to life. This week-long celebration is all about the vital role of volunteering in shaping our student experience, to demonstrate how every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

What happens on Student Volunteering Week?
We have prepared a range of events designed to celebrate volunteering and inspire participation. From creative workshops to staff-led initiatives and social events, you will have many opportunities to network with like-minded individuals. You can find these on our Events page! Amongst the many gatherings we have planned for you, you can look forward to:
How do I get involved?
This week is not just for those already volunteering—it’s a chance for new students to explore how they can get involved too. If you’re looking for an opportunity to contribute, Student Volunteering Week is the perfect starting point.
We recommend you go check out the Volunteering Fairs, one in Guy’s Campus on 12 February and another in Strand Campus on 13 February. You will be able to meet multiple charities, learn about external and internal volunteering opportunities, and even ask for advice if you are thinking of starting your own project.

Why should I participate?
There are so many benefits to getting involved in volunteering: it looks great on the CV, it allows you to expand on your skills, and discover new interests you would have never otherwise thought of!
Joining in our Student Volunteering Week events is also a great way to take part in the social life at KCLSU, spend time with your friends by doing a wholesome activity, and possibly even take a memento with you to commemorate a special day! For instance, you can decorate a bookmark to personalize an everyday object, or paint a small plant pot to explore your creativity and give a touch of colour to your room.
If your friends are volunteers, and you want to support them, make sure to grab a ticket for the Volunteer Showcase, a fun evening of snacks and celebrations for the incredible impact out students make in our community!
So, what are you waiting for? Join us this week to learn about what volunteering looks like at KCLSU, and inspire a wave of new volunteers and continue to make a lasting difference through selfless acts.
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity —Student Volunteering Week at KCLSU is here, and we can’t wait to have you!
