In collaboration with the KCLSU LGBT+ Network, we will be hosting events that educate the community and celebrate and share trans stories and experiences.

What is Trans Awareness Week?

Trans Awareness Week is a week during which transgender people and their allies take action to bring attention to the community by:

educating the public about who transgender people are,

sharing stories and experiences,

advancing advocacy around the issues of prejudice, discrimination, and violence that affect the transgender community.

This year's theme is 'Our Trans Heroes', which reminds us of key trans figures in history, who have helped the community fight for their visibility, and rights and brought us one step closer to achieving full equality.

As every year we are honouring and celebrating the trans community at King's and beyond in collaboration with the KCLSU LGBT+ Network.

If you're a member of the community or looking into expanding your awareness and knowledge about the Trans community, you will find useful resources here:
